Is this you?
Not only will you have developed a very muscular arm , your back will suffer as you are carrying your baby with one arm. If you were carrying your baby in a sling you would have both arms free, and the babies weight would be much better spread over your whole body and carrying a baby in a sling has it's own benefits. I never used a sling untill I started this business, and I must admit, I was a bit sceptical on using one, as it looks all a bit complicated( and I don't like complicated!) but I can assure you that it really is not difficult to use. It's a bit like learning to drive a bike or a car. it takes a bit of practice, but once you know how to drive the car, it's another skill you have required.
I started with the BB Sling( Ringsling) and by simply referring to the manual( which is very detailed, step-by-Step) I was able to carry Alexander in a matter of minutes! And the bit that caught me by surprise was that he really enjoyed it, and was very settled, which gave me a sense of calm and wellbeing.
Once I mastered the BB - Sling I experimented with the Tri-Cot Slen, which is a long stretchy scarf. As this is a stretchy wrap, it requires some tying, which was daunting to be, but to my surprise, also this was quite straightforward. Also here I found the manual to be very explanatary and I referred back to it quite a few time to check on how to do a particular position. I found the Tri-Cot Slen very comfortable to wear, and as the Baby's weight is evenly distributed over your shoulders, back and hips, I didn't really feel the weight of Alexander. And also here Alexander would be very contented to be close to me, and allowing me to go for a walk/do a quick shop without a buggy or simply have him close to me if he needed comfort. The Tricot-Slen's are now made with 100% Organic Cotton..
There is also the Tricotti - which is also a knitted sling, and does not require any tying or adjusting as the baby rests in two pouches.. Particularly handy for small babies and little or no fuss putting it on..
The BB Slen- which is the woven scarf ( wrap) requires a bit more patience, as you have to learn a bit more about the various tying positions, but essentially is the most versatile ! As it's woven, it is suitable for larger/heavier babies/toddlers.
The BB-Tai is an Asian inspired carrier, Made in Fair trade and are in stock now!
